"Blue Day" with the Kindergarten Class

What is better than getting a visit from one of our two kindergarten classes in honor of "Blue Day"?  Nothing!  Luckily, I had on the appropriate attire!  It is very exciting for our school that this year we have two kindergarten classes and two first grade classes for the first time in more than a decade, each with about 14 kids.  It is a fantastic environment and an excellent teacher-student ratio.

First Grade (Kitah Alef) Defines Community...

One of our two first grade classes, Ms. Rosner's class, had a discussion about the meaning of  "community" and what makes the Kadima community so special and meaningful.  They did a fantastic job in forming the list below....

Shabbat Under the Stars Tonight!!!

I was happy to hear from my daughter, Cayla, this morning, that "Shabbat Under the Stars" (along with Sukkot B'Yachad) are two of her favorite days of the year.  And, rightfully so.  Our community will gather to welcome more than 70 new families, share in the joys and blessings of Shabbat, and partake in a wonderful meal.  Please join us!

A New School Year Begins....Kadima 2012-2013

Kadima teaches student to  think critically, to learn dynamically, to discover a sense of self, and ultimately, to learn what it means to be a “Global Jewish citizen”.  Our integrated curriculum combines academic excellence and values education with spiritual meaning and religious observance, and our students become leaders rather than followers, and to love and support Medinat Yisrael and its people.

This summer, our focus and commitment have been rewarded as we have seen a dramatic student growth at our foundation.  Our Early Childhood Education Center (ECEC) directed by Randi Riddle, will grow more than 20% this year, with three four year-old classes.  In order to accommodate this growth, our Elementary Art Room has been transformed into our newest ECEC classroom.  Not only is it wonderful to see our ECEC grow, but the pool of four-year-olds is our best source of Kindergarten and elementary school students.  Once people experience the Kadima community, they often-times see the direct and significant benefit to their children, and then choose to keep them at Kadima throughout their elementary and middle school years.

In addition, for the first time in more than a decade our Elementary School has grown so that we will have two Kindergarten classes and two first grade classes this fall.  What a fantastic achievement for our community!  The vision of our Board of Trustees is to grow our Elementary School, and our middle school, so that we become  a “two track” educational program, thereby offering even greater social and community opportunities.

The Kadima Technology program has continued on the “cutting edge” in our Middle School.  This year, our Technology team has determined that it is time to transform our Middle School Technology program to the IPAD.  And so, each of our Middle School students will receive an IPAD this year, loaded with at least two of our core textbooks on the device.  Our students will learn to use the IPAD as a communications and learning tool, and we are confident that this one-to-one IPAD program will be tremendous success.
